A History of Success on the Road and Off
The Porsche 911 has a long and storied history of success, both on the road and off. In 1984, the 911 Carrera 3.2 4x4 Paris-Dakar 953 took the overall victory in the legendary Paris-Dakar Rally, a testament to the car's ruggedness and performance.
Introducing the 2023 911 Dakar
Now, Porsche is building on that legacy with the introduction of the 2023 911 Dakar. This new model is a lifted, off-road-capable variant of the famed 911 sports car, complete with a roof rack, all-wheel drive, and all-terrain tires.
The 911 Dakar is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter flat-six engine that produces 473 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. This engine is mated to an eight-speed PDK transmission, which sends power to all four wheels.
The 911 Dakar is also equipped with a number of off-road-specific features, including a lifted suspension, underbody protection, and a rear-mounted spare tire. The car also comes with a number of drive modes, including a new "Rallye" mode that is designed for off-road driving.
